Modern Portfolio Pro

Modern Portfolio Pro is just what the theme name suggests – it’s a portfolio theme, and it is for professionals. But this beautiful theme has been optimized to hold a lot of images, so you will have no problem with creating a photography website.

The theme is a product of Studiopress. This is one of the studios that has proven that it can produce high quality templates. This is thanks to the powerful Genesis framework that is the basis of all their themes.

But let’s talk more about Modern Portfolio Pro. The best words to describe this theme are “responsive minimalist portfolio”. A lot of people seem to think that minimalist means simple and ugly. But that’s not the case and Modern Portfolio Pro is the theme to prove that. The theme is designed to be a single page website, with navigation in the header and very smooth transition between the different sections of the page.

However, when you open a portfolio entry, it will open in a new page. This is a very unique approach by Studiopress – the homepage and its navigation promote a single page website, whereas opening portfolio and blog links occurs in new tabs. But that doesn’t take away anything from the great theme. The blog and portfolio-type posts follow the minimalist design and offer nothing more than the theme should have.

The footer of Modern Portfolio Pro is fully customizable. It’s based on widgets, and you can add/remove any of them in the live customizer.

We also tested the theme with our mobile phones and tablets. It passed all the tests by showing perfectly on all of them. We even tested it with limited speed data traffic connections, and the light nature of the theme showed itself. The demo website loaded pretty quickly, thanks to the optimized images and very light, well written code.
